Logistics Plan 7-18-2016

Update 11-22-2017

Cold weather is here and we are getting the temp heating units back on site in order to continue with the installation of finishes inside the building. These units make a little noise well below the noise limits established by Town of Brookline.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Update 9-23-2017

Both Shawmut’s subcontractor and the utility companies; National Grid and Eversource are continuing their work on Stedman Street which is unfortunately delayed by several weeks due to fact that the existing underground condition was found to be different from what was assumed during design phase. The work of the utility companies are nearly complete and we are hoping that they will complete their work 100% by Mid-October. Shawmut’s work is anticipated to be complete on Stedman St by the end of October 2017.

Utility work for the new Edward Devotion School requires underground work within Stedman Street between 4 Stedman and 78 Stedman. Due to the extensive nature of this work it will require periodic street closures. Such closures would be limited to the hours of 7 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday, and Shawmut will provide notification via email prior to the closure. When thru- traffic must be blocked, Brookline Police details will be posted at the intersections of Stedman and Beale, and Stedman and Harvard, parking on Stedman will be prohibited, and two-way traffic will be temporarily allowed to enable all residents to get to and from their property. If specific activities will cause a driveway to be blocked during the day, Shawmut will notify the affected property and temporary parking arrangements, if needed, will be made.

This work is outlined on attached preliminary schedule. While work activity is currently planned to take place between June 15th and August 25th, impacts on traffic flow will be intermittent, and Shawmut will provide as much advance notice as practical, however weather or other unforeseeable conditions are likely to impact the performance of the work, and, therefore, specific dates for activities cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, work for the underground electrical and gas service will be completed by the appropriate utility companies. Unfortunately, the time frame for this work is subject to change and the project is .

Shawmut and its subcontractors will ensure that access is provided at all times to the addresses effected by this work.

If residents have upcoming activities that require added coordination with the utility work (such as scheduling a moving truck or a major delivery) we encourage providing that information to Shawmut as early as possible so that we can make reasonable provisions to avoid conflicts. The project contact person for Shawmut Design and Construction is Parviz Tabrizi – c. 617-212-7839   e.

Shawmut Design and Construction will be in close communication with the abutters directly related to each activity and provide notice prior to each street shut down. Unless unforeseen circumstances dictate otherwise, the street will be reopened no later than 5 pm each day.

Shawmut is requesting that residents on Stedman street provide contact information (email/phone/etc.) to enable better communication. Furnishing this information is greatly appreciated, and will allow us to keep residents updated as activities and traffic impacts approach.
